So you are tired of the windows xp look, and you have seen vista and like how it looks.
Well the good news is, you can still get the same look, without having to pay for Windows Vista.
There are many customization packs out there, but the one I recommend is Vista Inspirant 2.
Download at: http://www.crystalxp.net/galerie/en.id.130.htm
How do you set it up?
Once you have download this program, run the install program.

One you see the screen above, you will have a few options from here.
Express: This option is the option you want to go for, if you don’t have a fast computer.
Classic: The same options from Express, plus you also get an animated dock, which is similar to the MAC OS X dock.
Total: You get the same as clasisic, but on top of that, you will get dropped shadows, effects of transparency, and it will also add some animations to the icons.
Not only does it change the feel and look of the operating system, but it will also change the sounds.
Keep in mind though, these customization packs, often add more demand on the PC. So, if you’re system is already slow under default windows xp, then I would advise you not to customize, and even more, stay away from windows vista ![]()

Whoa thanks Jean, this is exactly what I’ve been lookin for!
I don’t think there is a package that will transform Vista into XP nor will anyone want to!
I’ve always liked the look of Windows Vista, and my comp. came with a free upgrade to it (they sent it to me in the mail), but it made my computer go so slow that I had to revert back to Windows XP. I don’t think I’ll be transforming my interface right now for fear of slowing down my computer, but I will definitely keep this program in mind in case I DO want to do that one day
Although, I hear Microsoft is already working on their next version of Windows so I just might wait until that comes out before buying a new PC that supports the newer operating systems.
Michael, the package transforms the GUI interface to a similar interface of Windows Vista. It is an “inspirant” an inspiration of windows vista. It will not transform your current operating system to windows vista, however, it will transform the Look and feel of it.
Xicom, Performance wise, Windows XP is the way to go. It is true that Windows Vista will not give you a performance booster, in many cases windows xp outperforms windows vista operations.
Yes Microsoft is already working on their next version of windows. Windows 7 which was formerly codenamed Blackcomb, then Vienna. They have it predicted to be out in 2009, but I wouldn’t expect that to happen.
i actually want to change my vista to xp. it’s really slow. i can do without the bells and whistles of vista for speed and functionality of xp. if i want aesthetics i’ll use my mac
Well, did you just recently purchase the computer? Or did you buy a copy of vista. If you did buy the computer with vista pre-installed on it, then depending on what manufacturer you purchased it from, they might be willing to downgrade you to xp for free. I believe that Dell offers that.
I installed this the other day. Brilliant
Thanks Jean. Hey by the way, I noticed you have video tutorials on your site. You should consider putting them on http://www.tutorialparadise.com so you can earn money off them there!
That program rocks, XP was boring me to death and this is cool. I can have vista without all the crap that comes with vista. Granted there is a little more of a load on the system, but mine can handle it, so its all good.
My pc din’t met vista system requirements, will this Vista Inspirant 2 work well?
It will work on the xp systems, but it does slow down your computer system. So depending on your system specs, it might not be suitable for it.
