Every website publisher, knows that server uptime is crucial. Imagine that Google’s website went down, what would that mean to their revenue? Depending on how long the down time is, millions for sure! If Google were down for even 5 minutes, I bet they would lose more money, than an average person makes in one year!

Myself, being a website publisher, I know the importance of making sure that my servers have no downtime. I can’t monitor my server 24/7, and thats why I need some outside help. And the faster, I know about my web server being down, the faster I can get to diagnosing the problem.

Today I found a great website, that monitors your website for you, and reports to you of any downtime. This is great!

The website is Mon.itor.us, and you can register for free. You need to provide your email address and websites. The service will automaticaly notify and report to you when something goes down. They provide different features and services.

Another free website monitoring service is http://www.montastic.com/they report that they check your website every 10 minutes.

Have a look at the two programs, and compare, and report back to me what you think!

If you are already using, a monitoring system which is it? Is it free? Have you tried using either of the two services I just listed? If so, how do you like them? Let me know your thoughts!

Hhmmm, I also use one and it emails me whenever what happens with a report in my email with a time graph of downtime etc.

If I could just remember the name/URL now…
Guess it proves I have to go sleep now, when I get it I will post it here…\\
